Diversity Essay

Universities want to see your interactions with diverse communities and anticipate your future contributions. Your approach should authentically showcase your personal experiences and growth. Growing abroad isn’t easy. You might say I’ll keep myself away from the people who don’t look like me, but trust us, sometimes you’ll have to interact and respect stuff you never knew you would deal with. The key is to differentiate between when to respect and when to support. 😉 For now, they need to know about you within a diverse community.

Example:

I creatively compared my life to a tram traveling through various stations that mirrored experiences from my hometown, Alexandria. Each stop represented important community experiences and some of them were:

• One stop was a robotics center reflecting my childhood passion.

• Another mirrored my volunteer experiences at orphanages.

• The final station symbolized my anticipated arrival at the university, eager to contribute in specific areas.

I showed a little bit about each of them and how I managed to deal and communicate with different cultures and communities giving a full image to the reader that he can imagine.
